Historic Union Station is an icon in the Kansas City area. So when they needed to upgrade their mechanical system, Design Mechanical, Inc. was there to help design, engineer and install upgrades to their HVAC mechanical system that was within their tight budget and timeframe to coincide with the new IRS project.
DMI Solution
Design Mechanical, Inc.’s involvement in the project included four new cooling towers (900 tons each) and one chiller installation (800 tons) as well as revising the mechanical system for the new Science City Ticketing Office location. Union Station also added a new attraction that revolves around dinosaurs called the Paleontology Lab where they required a complete remodel / tenant finish to include a dust collection system in the lower level of Science City.
Highlights
Installation of new cooling towers (3,600 tons total), new chiller installation (800 tons), complete retrofit of the front half of the chiller plant, relocation and upgrade of the Science City Ticketing Office, Paleontology Lab tenant finish and dust collection system, Irish Museum Cultural Center tenant finish.
