Customer Challenge
Kerry Sweets Ingredients is a food processing plant located in New Century, Kansas. Some of the challenges for food processing facilities are keeping their production lines in operation and proper ventilation for the employees of the facility and surrounding areas. Kerry Sweets recently took on a new production line that required extremely cold chilled water (-14oF) that allows chocolate to properly release from the mold.

DMI Solution
Design Mechanical was contracted to design a chilled water system that would provide such extreme water temperature. First, a rental chiller was brought in to establish a baseline of what will be required as far as a permanent chiller and its capabilities. After establishing the baseline, we installed a Drake process chiller, along with primary and secondary pumping packages, surge tank and hoses.

Highlights
Rental chiller to establish baseline of size and chilled water temperature for new process line. New chiller to include primary and secondary pumping package. Project accomplished during cold ambient conditions.

“It has been a pleasure working with you and your team. They did an exceptional job.”
